The excellent video at the end, shows you the how-to in fine detail. You have to find frozen puff pastry, otherwise all the other ingredients are found in any baker’s kitchen.
Ingredients:
2 X 250 grs (1/2 lb) defrosted puff pastry
8 egg yolks, add
150 grs (6 oz) sugar
1 dL (3.5 fl. oz.) milk
100 grs (4 oz) flour
2 Tbsp corn starch
Then mix together:
1L (1 Qt) milk
2 packets vanilla sugar
8 egg whites
Pinch salt
150 grs (6 oz) sugar
500 mls (2 cups) sweetened whipping cream
Directions:
For the custard, blend together the egg yolks, sugar, milk, flour and corn starch.
Then in a pot over the stove mix the milk and vanilla sugar together. Heat to near boiling, then take off the heat and add the custard mixture to it and blend well.
In a separate bowl, whip together egg white, salt and sugar until stiff peaks form. Fold this mixture slowly and carefully into the custard until smooth.
For the whipped cream layer, whip the whipping cream until soft peaks form.Assemble according to the great video below.
